Miss Havisham's Cake | Great Expectations | Charles Dickens | Book Inspired Candle

A must for all Dickens fans and especially Great Expectations fans, here is our carefully blended Miss Havisham's Cake candle.   I always felt sorry for Miss Havisham, sitting in her decaying mansion in her mouldy old wedding dress, one shoe on one shoe off; surrounded by the remains of her wedding breakfast and bride cake, with the clocks stopped at twenty minutes to nine.  Such an iconic and well known character that I thought she deserved her own candle, but instead of decaying, mice-eaten bride cake, I thought I would give her a better cake - one that smells like the most delicious of cakes!

"What do you think that is?" she asked me, again pointing with her stick; "that, where those cobwebs are?"
    "I can't guess what it is, ma'am."
    "It's a great cake. A bride-cake. Mine!"
